About Us

Our Roots
We are an organization founded by people with a migration background. Our members are deeply rooted in our city – many of our families found their new home in Bergisch Gladbach and Germany as early as 1960.

Our Values and Vision
At the core of our work are the unwavering values of human rights, freedom, and democracy. We are strongly committed to the peaceful coexistence of all people living in Germany and take a firm stand against any form of discrimination and racism. Our vision is an inclusive society free from marginalization and human rights violations. To actively promote these values and carry them into society, we offer a diverse range of seminars, courses, and events.

Advocacy for the Alevi Community
Another major focus of our work is representing the Kurdish and Turkish Alevis living in Germany. Out of this responsibility, we also draw attention to the ongoing grievances in Turkey: For decades, the Alevi community there has been fighting for official recognition as a religious community. Corresponding court rulings continue to be ignored by the state to this day, and Alevis are denied their rightful financial support. Furthermore, the Turkish state still does not officially recognize our places of worship (Cem houses).
In addition, the systematic oppression of the Kurdish population, which affects Kurdish and Turkish Alevis alike, continues to this day. As an organization, we stand in solidarity with those affected, demand justice, and campaign tirelessly for the protection of universal fundamental rights.
